Au Pair UK Get Together in London 2012

Every autumn, Smartaupairs au pair agency organizes a get together for all the new au pairs who have arrived in the UK.
This year, we had approximately 100 au pairs attending! The purpose of the get together is to recap on some of the basic information about being an au pair, and to give the au pairs the tools to make the best of their au pair time.
The topics covered included for example:
- Advice on practicalities, such as registering with GP/Opening a Bank account
- how to deal with homesickness
- the importance of good communication with the host family
- how to resolve any issues that may occur during your stay
- ideas for entertaining the children
- how to find friends
- + additional presentations on available first aid courses by Safe and Sound and day/weekend tours by International Friends
