Ronja: A Thank you to My Host Family

The au pair program has continued, despite the challenges in 2020 and at Smartaupairs we have welcomed nearly 160 new au pairs since summer time. 

A huge thank you goes out to ALL hosts who have welcomed their au pairs with open arms, despite the somewhat unusual circumstances, considering COVID & upcoming Brexit. 

We asked au pairs to nominate their hosts for the best welcome and the entry by Ronja - regarding her host family Brown - has won Ronja a gift card and her host family a lovely M&S Hamper. 

Here is the winning entry:

"I think my host family should win the hamper, because they gave me a wonderful second home in Edenbridge. I am their first aupair and they make every effort to make me feel comfortable and a part of their family. Even though my flight got canceled and I had to take a very early flight instead, my host parents and all three children got up at 6am on a saturday morning to give me a particular warmly welcome. The kids did such a great job preparing a very lovely poster for me. The attempt to write welcome in german was so sweet, exspecially because one letter was missing.

Fun fact: I am named after the main character of the book: "Ronja Robbers Daughter". My family had the great idea to buy the book, so I can read it now to the kids.
I also fell in love with my room, because they decorated it so lovely. I had never in my life such a big and comfy bed!
Moreover my host family helped me a lot to settle down, get to know other aupairs and show me the best places in the area. So much effort need to be rewarded!
