Au Pair Destination of the Month August: Australia

01-08-2012
Australia is a dynamic, vibrant country filled with people who are energetic, friendly, confident and welcoming to those visiting or studying abroad. With people from more than 100 ethnic groups, Australia is one of the world's most multicultural countries. From vibrant cities to the fascinating outback, Australia has a diverse environment unlike any other in the world and is committed to preserving its natural beauty and scenery. Of course national parks with koalas and kangaroos, Uluru/Ayers Rock, Sydney Opera House and the Barrier Reef are ‘must see’ on your list. Whether you are a beach lover wanting to try your hand at surf, a fan of nature on horse-back or a city slicker in need of shopping & dining, you will find it in Australia! We have our own Smartaupairs office in Australia and can give you all the support you need! Our host families are relaxed and welcoming and many have strong links with Europe from their own travels or background. The au pair program is designed to be combined with travel and you only have to commit for 6 months in a host family. You can also choose a second placement in a totally different location; we can offer you the second placement for free! We have Smartaupairs host families all over Australia. Please read below how au pairs have experienced their time in Australia: Au Pair Verena in Brisbane - My au pair year was absolutely awesome! There were no problems at all and I really liked my family. The children are so sweet and I have enough time to explore the city. My host mum showed me nice places in Brisbane and it’s a very nice city. The house I’m living is great, I have everything I need. I have my own room and have enough privacy if I need it. I already met other au pairs who live very close to me. I’m very happy! Au Pair Lisa in Sydney – I got along with the parents and children very well. It’s a beautiful location and I had a lovely room with own bathroom. The children were so great! My host parents have also helped me to get in contact with other au pairs. I am definitely enjoying my stay with the family and they’re helping me and they encourage me to explore Australia. I am glad to be here. Au Pair Anna in Melbourne – I love my time with the family, I got along with the children and the parents. I was very happy with the temperature!! The accommodation was great, had my own room with bathroom and we also had a pool! I’ve made lots of friends and love Australia! Au Pair Sophie in Perth – My host family is great. They're great people; we laugh all the time and I can talk to them about everything. I also love the children! They didn't have any problem with me coming here and the other au pair leaving, they listen to me and we have lots of fun together! Australia is simply too big and too amazing for a holiday; to experience the lifestyle and the wealth of attractions on offer, you simply need to stay longer. As an au pair you can enjoy the Aussie lifestyle from the comfort of a nice family home with local people to show you around and take you to the best places!
